     PartGUI is a nice Graphical User Interface, which allows Linux partition tools to be as easy to use as commercial tools. It works under XWindow or with the Frame Buffer. It's based on Qt from trolltech. For the moment, it only provides the following parted features: create partition, destroy partition, erase all partitions, and a partition.

2.  GNU Parted

    GNU Parted manipulates partition tables. This is useful for creating space for new operating systems, reorganizing disk usage, copying data on hard disks and disk imaging.      tex2pdf (formerly lyx2pdf) is a script that generates a PDF document from a LaTeX or LyX document using pdf(la)tex, hyperref and other tools. There is a bash shell and Perl implementation available. The bash port (tex2pdf 2.x) is no longer maintained and is considered deprecated. However, you can still find it in the download area of released versions. tex2pdf is coded in Perl from version 3.0 on.

     Ark is a program for managing various archive formats within the KDE environment. Ark is a free and open source software, available for Linux and similar operating systems under the GNU General Public License (GPL), Version 2. Archives can be viewed, extracted, created and modified from within Ark. The program can handle various formats such as tar, gzip, bzip2, zip, rar and lha (if appropriate command-line programs are installed). Ark can work closely with Konqueror in the KDE environment to handle archives, if you install the Konqueror Integration plugin available in the kdeaddons package.

1.  Dia

     Dia is a gtk+ based diagram creation program released under the GPL license. It can be used to draw many different kinds of diagrams. It currently has special objects to help draw entity relationship diagrams, UML diagrams, flowcharts, network diagrams, and many other diagrams. It is also possible to add support for new shapes by writing simple XML files, using a subset of SVG to draw the shape.

     It can load and save diagrams to a custom XML format (gzipped by default, to save space), can export diagrams to a number of formats, including EPS, SVG, XFIG, WMF and PNG, and can print diagrams (including ones that span multiple pages).
